COVID-19 Updates

The priorities for Morale, Welfare and Recreation on Naval Air Station (NAS) Corpus Christi are to protect personnel and support the mission.  NAS Corpus Christi is in HPCON Charlie

The following measures are implemented:

MASKS ARE REQUIRED REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS IN ALL MWR FACILITIES.

· Social Distancing will be monitored and enforced.
· Periodic sanitizing and cleaning will be done throughout the day.
· Hand Sanitizing stations are available.

Face coverings must not be offensive, must fit snugly but comfortably against the sides of the face, cover from nose to chin, be secured with ties or ear loops, and allow for breathing without restriction.

Full-face coverings (such as ski masks) are not authorized.

Food & Beverage

Catalina Club - 961-1155

Social Hour at the Catalina Club on Wednesdays and Winging Fridays has been cancelled until further notice due to the rising numbers of COVID cases.

Gulf Winds Snack Bar - 961-3360

Hours of Operation:
Monday - Sunday 7:00 am - 1:00 pm

Restrictions:

· Limited to 25% capacity or less.
· Tables have been removed to accommodate reduced numbers.
· Patrons can remove masks while sitting at the table eating.  They must wear a mask when not at the table.
· Self-serve food areas will remain closed.

 

Library Coffee Shop - 961-0368

Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 1:00 pm
Saturday, Sunday & Holidays Closed

Restrictions:

· Opening with 25% limited capacity.
· Tables will be spaced to maintain social distancing.

 

Recreation

Auto Skills Center - 361-961-3470

Hours of Operation:
Tuesday - Saturday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Sunday & Monday Closed

Restrictions:

· Opening with 25% limited capacity and operating every other lift.
· Tools will be sanitized and will sit for 24 hours prior to being checked out to another patron.
· No touch State Inspections will continue.  Patrons will stay in the car and will be required to wear a mask.

Requirements:

· Equipment will be disinfected prior to being placed back in inventory for rental.

· Ticket Office will remain open at 25% Capacity.  Masks required.
· Trips and tours will not be held.

Restrictions:

· Golf carts are restricted to single riders except when members of the same family.

Requirements:

· Carts are sanitized prior to being put back in inventory

 

Library & Resource Center

Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday & Sunday Closed

Restrictions:

· Open with 25% capacity.
· Patrons will be asked to wipe down any books that they touch while looking through the stacks.
· Storytime and crafts will be limited to 8 people per session.  Registration for a time slot is required.  Time slots will be given on a first come first serve basis.
· Programming will continue to do a combination of in-person/pick-up and virtual programs.
· Patrons will be encouraged to use the digital library.

Requirements:

· Books will be sanitized before they are put back into circulation.

 

Bowling Center - 961-3805

Tuesday - Thursday 11:00 am - 8:00 pm
Friday & Saturday 1:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Monday & Sunday Closed

Restrictions:

· Opening with 25% limited capacity.
· Every other lane will be open for play.

Requirements:

· Bowlers will leave balls and shoes in the pit area.  MWR Bowling Staff will sanitize prior to placing back on shelf for customer use.

 

NASCC RV Park - 961-1293

Sunday Closed

Restrictions:

· Open to all authorized patrons.
· RV Sites are spaced to easily maintain social distancing requirements

Requirements:

· Patrons/Staff are required to wear masks in the office and when in common areas.
· Patrons will be required to maintain social distancing guidelines
· Showers and laundry facilities will be cleaned and disinfected throughout the day.

 

Fitness Center, E-Street Gym & Bayside Pool

· ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY AND MILITARY DEPENDENTS ONLY DURING REGULAR HOURS; *RETIREES ONLY DURING DESIGNATED HOURS.

· No towel service / No classes
· Locker rooms will be open.

E-Street Gym - 961-3164

Monday - Friday: 6:00 am - 8:00 am; 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday & Sunday Closed

Restrictions:

· ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY ONLY
· Opening with 25% limited capacity.
· No towel service
· Locker rooms will be open.
· Racquetball Courts are closed until further notice.
· Intramural sports: Captain’s cup Softball will continue. Masks will be required only while in the dugout for softball players.

Requirements:

· Patrons will be required to wipe down machines before and after each use.
· Training Staff will set up for PT for Active Duty: Monday through Friday 6:15 am - 7:15 am.  It will be on a first come first serve basis.  Max class size is 10.

 

Bayside Pool

Hours of Operation:
Open until Sunday, August 8, 2021
Tuesday - Sunday 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Monday Closed

Restrictions:

· Open with 25% capacity

Requirements:

· Social Distancing on deck and as much as possible while in the pool.

Restrictions:

· Not accepting any new registrations.
· Parents can still register in Military Child Care to be on the waiting list but no spots will be granted until NASCC returns to HPCON Bravo.

Requirements:

· Health Screenings and Temperature Checks prior to entry.
· Minimizing visitors in buildings/classrooms
· Sanitizing throughout the day
· Enhanced classroom cleanings.

The MWR Guest Card Program is taking new applications and renewing applications on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 0830 – 1130 at the Pass and Tag Office.
